Batik Malaysia is famous on the east cost of Malaysia (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang). Malaysia Batik is slightly different from Indonesia Batik. One distinct feature of Malaysian batik is the modern, unrestrained motifs which often draw from local cultural expressions. Colours too, in many instances tend to be bold and varied. The most popular motifs are leaves and flowers. Malaysian batik depicting animals are rare because Islam norms forbid animal metaphors as decoration. However, some fauna like butterfly theme is a common exception.While floral themes abound, more abstract forms and geometrical designs are taking forms on the canvas of the batik fabric. This unique combination of features makes batik appealing beyond the Malaysian borders.

Batik is worn as formal dress during special function such as wedding or dinner and can be use as materials for modern fashion. Nowadays, it not only wear by lady but also gentleman.

What is Batik ?
Batik is an amazing and ancient method of color dyeing. Technically, batik is the process of applying dyes to porous surfaces. Historically, batik has been around for many hundreds of years. Esthetically, batik produces some of the most beautiful art in the world. However, batik is not easy and involves a very labor intensive and complex process with many hours of back breaking hard work.

Firstly, to create Batik is to design a pattern of what you would like to create. Then the design will be drawn with special wax using a tool known as "Canting" . Wax acts like a barrier to the color dyes and allows a color to remain while the remaining non-waxed fabric absorbs the dye. Most of the time the wax is then removed by soaking the fabric in hot water. If there is remain wax on the fabric , it will remove easily in a warm wash cycle.
